1. Introduction

Atlanto (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates an AI-powered customs classification platform that determines Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes for products. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you access or use our website, application, API, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including generating HTS classification results backed by CBP rulings.
  • To process transactions and manage your subscription and billing.
  • To communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and support.
  • To monitor and analyze usage trends to improve our classification accuracy and user experience.
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues.
  • To comply with legal obligations, including customs and trade compliance regulations.

4. AI and Classification Data

Our Service uses artificial intelligence, including large language models and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques, to classify products against the Harmonized Tariff Schedule. In this process:

  • Product data you submit is processed by our AI pipeline to generate classification results.
  • Classification results are grounded in publicly available U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) rulings and the HTS database.
  • We may use anonymized and aggregated classification data to improve our models and overall Service quality. Individual product data is never shared with other customers.
  • We use third-party AI model providers (such as Anthropic or OpenAI) to process classification requests. Data sent to these providers is subject to their respective data processing agreements and policies.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Service (e.g., cloud hosting, payment processing via Stripe, AI model providers, analytics).

  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets.
  • With Your Consent: When you have given us explicit consent to share your information for a specific purpose.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Classification history is retained to support audit trails and compliance requirements. We may retain certain data for longer periods as required by applicable law or for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes and enforcing our agreements.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
